I don't even know where to begin!
Let's start with Cason.
Oh my, he is one happy boy! Easiest.Baby.Ever. If you forget about the 8 million appointments he comes with each week. :) He's worth it...so so worth it!
He's practicing his senior pictures pose here...

I must say, this is the best toy ever. The batteries are dead and he still loves it far more than any other toy!

Okay, onto the update...
Cason seems to constantly be learning new things and progressing! He is STILL teething - I wish those teeth would just pop through! He is trying to ween himself from the bottle which is a bit of a problem because he doesn't quite get the concept of a sippy cup and though he eats any table food we give him, he still needs fluids, so we're still on the bottle for now until he starts figuring out the sippy and we can eliminate the bottle. Speaking of eating...he is a rockstar eater. I swear he would eat anything I put to his mouth without flinching and it seems like he never gets full! He has yet to learn how to self feed, but he's getting there. He will pick up food with his hands and if food is falling out of his mouth, he will bring his hand up to push it back in, but he hasn't figured out how to bring the food that he's picked up to his mouth yet.
He is MOBILE! He is army crawling, rolling and scooting to anywhere he wants to go. He does get himself stuck now and again, but has pretty much mastered getting from point A to point B in his own little creative way. He is now primarily sitting up moreso than laying down now that he has learned how to get from laying down to sitting up. He also side sits a lot (see the top picture) which his PT says is a huge milestone for him. So funny how I never would have noticed that with a child not needing the special attention he does. It does help him to get to his tummy from sitting if he's in the side sit to start.
He just got measured for foot/ankle braces that he will be getting next week. He puts all his weight on the insides of his feet and we are hoping the braces will teach him how to stand appropriately and in turn, walk appropriately. We will start working on him walking here in the next couple of months. He can stand while leaning back against the couch or facing it, but hasn't started pulling himself up yet.
He babbles and giggles and makes faces and noises constantly. He bounces and bops to music and loves his Praise Baby DVD's! He definitely has some sensory issues and doesn't like the sound of clapping or to be in rooms that echo or are filled with too much chaos. Unfortunately, he entered a family that is complete loudness and chaos! Ha.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Wesley!
He is WILD...and never stops. He is a character! He is difficult at times, but also a very snuggly and cuddly 3 year old!
He LOVES Tate...LOVES. He wants to do everything Tate's doing...

Wesley is DRAMATIC. I mean, what's his is his and what's yours is his. He can throw a tantrum like no other. This face here? It's a face I see about 10 times a day. And he'll go from this to giggles and smiles in about 2 seconds flat. He is a faker!

Medically, Wesley is doing great! We have done some medication adjustments lately and he has handled all of the changes very well. We have decreased his steroids to half of what he was gettin when we originally got him. He is doing great with this and it has saved us from his craziness. The higher the steroid dose, the crazier he is.
Wesley is eating SO WELL most of the time! He doesn't ever spit anything out, but sometimes has been known to take a bite of something and 3 hours later, it will still be in his mouth! Stinker. We have decreased his tube feedings to half of what we were giving him when we got him as well. He has continued to gain weight and grow despite this change which is fantastic! We hope that we can eliminate the pump and night feedings by the end of the summer. That would be life changing for us!
He pees out of his diaper every night. Every.Single.Night. I am so sick of changing crib sheets...so sick of it. He can't help it though...he's pumped full of fluids all night long!
He hasn't pooped in his diaper for about a week! He is telling me when he needs to poop and then goes on the potty!!! Woohoo! Love it! He's a bit backwards with his potty training in that I think he will likely have more difficulty peeing on the potty because he gets so many fluids, he is constantly peeing.
HE IS GOING TO PRESCHOOL IN THE FALL!!!! This is HUGE! He needs so much more speech and OT than his IEP allows at this time, so preschool will be huge for him! He will get speech and OT weekly and just so much more structure. I look forward to watching his progress once he starts. We were originally concerned about putting him in preschool for medical reasons because of the exposure to sickness he will have and the fact that he's on immunosupressants, but his doctor is super supportive of us putting him in preschool and has given us the OK. :)
I am anxious to see what the rest of this year holds with him.
