Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy!

Well, Anthony turns 1 today! It's so strange that we've only known him for a month, yet celebrating this momentous occassion is so incredibly special and emotional for me. You see, I love this boy. LOVE him. I would do anything for him, just like I would for Tate. I have moments when I look at him and love him so much it hurts...just like I do with Tate. I know Sean feels the same way. In our hearts, no legal document will change how we feel...he is ours.

Anthony is so strong. This birthday is huge. At 8 weeks old, it was unlikely that he would live. He has been through so much and is so incredibly happy and determined. He has made great strides in his short 12 months of life. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the progression from the beginning, but we have seen incredible progression in him in just the few weeks we've had him. It's so incredible to see such determination and strength in such a little guy! We are so proud and amazed by him every single day.

You have blessed our family more than we ever dreamed. We love you more than we could put into words and will love you forever. You fit into our family...we needed you in our family. Tate loves you so much and is always talking about you, asking where you are or what you're doing. We weren't there for the first 11 months of your life, but we will be here for the rest of it. We feel so blessed that we get the honor of having you in our family! Thank you for teaching us so much in such a short period of time...we know you will continue to teach us so much more. You make us better, you make us want to be better. Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy! We look forward to celebrating many, many more with you in years to come! We thank God for bringing you into our lives and pray that you always know how special and loved you are!
