some thoughts...

Today is a big day in regard to Anthony's case. And I have some thoughts...

I thank God for putting this situation in my life. It has changed me, it has changed the way I think of things and the way I have tended to judge people. It might be cliche to say that you just can't judge someone unless you've walked in their shoes because you never know what someone has been through that causes them to do certain things. I have heard that so many times. Not until now do I "get" it.

It is so unfortunate and sickening to think about what Anthony has gone through and what he has overcome. What was done to him was unthinkable. Call me crazy, but I in no way, shape or form look at the person who did this to him as a monster. I did though. When we first got Anthony, I did. Because we are now Anthony's guardians, we are considered a part of his case and are given ALL of the information, court documents, history of everyone involved in what happened to him. I have read every word. And what it taught me is that the person who did these things to him has been through hell as well...she went through hell for her entire life. She is a victim of so many unthinkable things. She was not equipped to take care of Anthony.

So as I hear and read all of the comments from people who only know the side of the story that the public knows, I am so saddened. If only they knew...

Oh yes, we as humans certainly tend to judge without knowing.... that is really not for us to do, even more so when we do not know the WHOLE story!! Prayers to ALL concerned with our sweet little Anthony!! He is such a delight!! :)
